AMG Systems appoints new UK distributor

Bedfordshire, UK

AMG Systems, a provider of fibre optic transmission equipment designed for CCTV surveillance operations in the transportation and security sectors has appointed UK based Fibre Optech as new distributor of their Vision 2000 and Guardian-Lite product ranges.

The acclaimed Guardian 3700/4700 series from AMG Systems, is the markets first to integrate Ethernet, low speed data, audio and high quality uncompressed video into a single fibre optic transmission system. The 3700 was selected last year by Alcatel for the NRTS project - a single national approach to the future communications network on England's motorway and trunk network which is managed and maintained by the Highways Agency.

Fibre Optech has grown out of the communications cabling and networking industry, and has unrivalled experience in optical transmission equipment and in the emerging IP (or Ethernet) based technologies.

"Fibre Optech has built a very strong business reputation on the sound principles of quality, customer service and extensive technical support. The company place great emphasis on high level training for both the sales team and technical staff in the product ranges they distribute. We're therefore very pleased that Fibre Optech will also undertake all first level support in connection with projects where AMG products are supplied" says Sara Bullock, sales director of AMG Systems, in connection with the appointment.

"AMG Systems manufacture a comprehensive range of multimode and singlemode fibre optic transmission products for CCTV and surveillance systems and we are delighted to have been appointed as a distributor. This new introduction only goes to reinforce Fibre Optech's reputation as being a true one-stop-shop, with the ability to provide all of our installers' security product requirements. We will be stocking both the Vision and the Guardian-Lite product ranges" says Mandy McCracken, sales manager at Fibre Optech.

The new range of Guardian-Lite products eliminate the need for separate IP, voice or data networks and enable significant savings in infrastructure to be achieved. In a highway situation, for instance, surveillance can be carried out on high quality, uncompressed, real-time video images while the Ethernet carries IP traffic for variable message signs, phones, ANPR cameras and wireless. At the same time, the low speed data channels can carry the signals from road coils and other data systems used on modern highway systems. Guardian-Lite is also beneficial in perimeter security situations, again enabling high quality video images to be relayed to the control room while allowing the access control system to be carried alongside. In every situation, it is a cost-effective alternative to the installation of separate Ethernet and low speed data networks.

The AMG Vision 2000 product range provides low cost video, data/audio transmission solutions over multimode fibre cable. The range is available as either dual or single fibre variants and offers a comprehensive range of audio and data interfaces. The inclusion of an auto gain control within the AMG receivers has made the Vision 2000 range a true 'PLUG 'n PLAY' system.
