Aimetis an early adopter of mobile video content analysis

Wareloo, Canada

Aimetis has been identified by IMS Research as an early adopter of Mobile Video Content Analysis technology in its 2009 report, The World Market for Mobile Video Surveillance Equipment.

The report predicts the mobile video surveillance market to grow steadily, reaching USD 565.5 million by 2013, up from USD 375.4 million in 2008. Video content analysis technology is expected to continue to be adopted in mobile environments, particularly Transit Buses, Trains & Trams over the same period.

"Aimetis is an early adopter in providing video analytics in the mobile video surveillance market," says Niall Jenkins, industry analyst, IMS Research. "Aimetis SymphonyT OnBoard, is an intelligent IP surveillance device that incorporates video analytics and video management to provide transit authorities with important information such as people flow, and occupancy levels at key times. This information improves security and operational efficiencies providing the return-on-investment transit authorities are looking for when deciding to implement an IP based solution."

Aimetis Symphony On-Board is a ruggedized intelligent video surveillance solution designed for applications on-board trains, buses, automobiles, aircraft, and other mobile environments. It provides security and operations personnel with the ability to centrally manage mobile video by enabling access to on-board video from an unlimited number of vehicles and remotely download video using wireless networks.

"Leveraging our success in the transportation sector, it is natural to extend our intelligent video solution to mobile environments," says Marc Holtenhoff, CEO, Aimetis Corp. "With factors like security and litigation requirements, combined with increased funding availability, we expect the market for intelligent mobile video surveillance to continue to grow."
