2N launches world's first door intercom with LTE technology

Lund, Sweden

2N, a world producer of IP intercoms is introducing a new model - the 2N  LTE Verso is the first door communicator using LTE technology. It provides a complete set of functions familiar from IP intercoms, with minimal installation costs.

The LTE technology used fully replaces both data and analogue cables and can even handle video calls in HD quality. Thanks to the 2N Mobile Video application, you can receive these calls on your mobile phone or tablet from wherever you are.

The intercom is based on the layout of the well-known 2N IP Verso model, including its modularity. It features an HD camera with night vision, a single button for calling and a slot for a SIM card. The basic unit is always supplied with an internal antenna that takes the slot of one module.

Therefore, the installation requires a frame with at least two slots. An external antenna can be connected to the intercom to improve signal quality or in case the slot is needed for an addition of one of the 14 optional modules, such as an RFID card, fingerprint reader, touch screen or mechanical keypad. Another very practical addition is a Bluetooth module that enables opening the door with only a mobile phone using the 2N Mobile Key application – a modern, fully secured and very user-friendly method of access control.

Thanks to the intercom’s high modularity, its individual components may be combined to create a bespoke access system. The intercom is available in two colours black and silver.

The 2N LTE Verso intercom and all its functions can be configured remotely via the Internet. All you need do is insert a SIM card to connect to the LTE network and then set it up via the 2N Remote Configuration service. Adding the intercom to the service, as well as its subsequent configuration, is free of charge. As soon as the intercom is successfully configured, all its functions are ready to use.

The 2N LTE Verso communicator can also provide e-mail shots of the visitor captured by the integrated HD camera, both at the time of the call or at night when the intercom detects motion near the door. Among its basic functions are calling the appropriate unit, mobile phone or tablets using mobile data. The 2N® Mobile Video service is designed to receive calls as a mobile application. Therefore, the visitor doesn’t know whether you are communicating with them from home or from thousands of miles away.

Thanks to its modularity, the 2N LTE Verso intercom is intended for residences, office buildings, apartment buildings and family homes, particularly for older or reconstructed buildings where installation of data cables may prove difficult. Vít Kovařík, the Marketing Director of 2N Telecommunication explains “The transition from analogue doorbells and old-fashioned ‘speakers’ to modern IP communicators is a clear trend in recent years. In new buildings, smart video intercoms are planned during the construction. But laying cables for IP technology continued to be an installation obstacle in older buildings. We believe that this first LTE intercom in the world will bring about a breakthrough and that LTE will soon become a generally accepted standard for door communicators.”
