Security door firm secures premises with Aperio

Assa Abloy helps Reshafim secure own premises

As a manufacturer of security, safety and fire doors for commercial markets, Reshafim know what it takes to secure a property. To protect their own new manufacturing site, their choice was Aperio wireless locks from Assa Abloy, integrated with the DDS access control system from Ardan.

Around 30 battery-powered Aperio E100 online escutcheons have been installed at the new Ashkelon plant. Each is linked to a DDS electronic access control system using a network of wireless communications hubs. With no wires, no expensive electrical cabling work was needed for the installation, which helped Reshafim control costs for the project.

“As part of a large investment at the site, we demanded an access control system that worked online and around the clock,” says Gabi Gavriel, IT manager at Reshafim. “Aperio wireless technology met our access control and security needs perfectly.”

Employees at the Reshafim plant now open doors using standard RFID technology, in this case with HID smartcards. Deployment was straightforward, and can easily be extended should needs at the manufacturing site change or Reshafim wishes to extend access control to bring more company locations into the same system. Aperio components fit Reshafim’s security doors, standard doors and fire doors.

With the Aperio connected online to the access control system chosen by Reshafim, facilities managers can conduct access audits on demand. They can issue or revoke an individual’s access rights instantly, which is crucial in maintaining site security if someone loses a card. And with Aperio online, all changes can be made in real time using the access control software and communications hub, without the need to visit every door with a portable updater.
