Also at the conference, Omer Sagi — Director of Business Development for Smart Door Locks at Assa Abloy — will present to delegates in a session on “Smart Home and Connected Health”.
Centre-stage on Assa Abloy’s Yale showcase is the battery-powered Entr Smart Lock, which combines a patented, high-security mechanical cylinder and smart technology. Entr enables users to unlock their front door with a smartphone, PIN code, remote control or fingerprint reader. Entr is easy to retrofit; it simply replaces the existing locking cylinder.
With Entr, there’s no longer any need to cut spare keys for kids, cleaners, carers or temporary workers. It takes a couple of swipes on a phone or tablet screen to share digital keys with family or anyone who needs to access your home or office — and to revoke those keys instantly. Wire-free charger, remote fob, touchpad and fingerprint wall readers are sold separately to complete the ultimate retrofit smart solution.
The Yale range of residential smart locks also includes cylinder- and handle-based models developed specifically for markets and smart-home platforms across Europe, including Turkey, Sweden, Germany and the UK, where the Yale Smart Living portfolio integrates Yale smart locks with alarm and CCTV systems via a custom smartphone app.
“Household security is getting ever more intelligent; with a domestic Internet of Things, digital living is becoming a reality,” says Thomas Schulz, Director of Marketing and Communications at Assa Abloy EMEA. “We are already seeing significant adoption of consumer-facing IoT technologies, and believe a truly smart home must start with a smart door.”
