UTP camera and mini-dome range

Surrey, UK

Samsung introduces the SUB-2000 box camera, SUD-2080F flush mounted dome and SUD-2080 surface mounted dome. They are all high resolution cameras with built-in UTP transmitters which allow for video to be transmitted over distances of up to 1km.

Samsung has also introduced the SPU-400T UTP transmitter, the SPU-400R UTP receiver and a device called the SPU-100TR which balances differentials in signal input to ensure compatibility of the UTP cameras with existing coaxial equipment.

Peter Ainsworth, European Product Manager for Samsung's professional security division explains the reason why Samsung has introduced the new UTP range:

"Increasingly architects are specifying that UTP cabling should be installed as part of their clients' network infrastructure. Utilising this infrastructure for surveillance purposes will ensure that clients get the best value out of this investment in cabling as the transmission of video and data, as well as the provision of power, can be achieved from a single UTP (Unshielded Twisted Pair) cable."

All three of the cameras incorporate Samsung's W-5 DSP chipset and are equipped with a long list of features which include a BNC coaxial output for local set up or monitoring, eight motion detection zones, twelve privacy masking zones and a fourteen language on-screen display menu.

The SUB-2000 box camera is a colour/monochrome camera whilst the two domes are true day/night cameras with a removable infrared cut filter. 600TV lines resolution ensures that the three cameras generate high quality colour images at lighting levels as low as 0.05Lux sensitivity, whilst a 512x Sens-up capability provides for clear, sharp colour images to be captured at lighting levels far below those which other cameras would switch to a monochrome image.

Samsung Super Dynamic Range (SSDR), Samsung's dynamic backlight compensation technology, automatically lightens the dark areas within a scene whilst maintaining the brighter areas at the same level. This ensures that the dark areas become more visible allowing the operator to 'view' objects in the shadows. The three cameras also benefit from DIS (Digital Image Stabilization) which compensates for camera shake in strong winds and Samsung Super Noise Reduction (SSNRIII) technology.

Available from all Samsung distributors, the new UTP range is offered with free system design, free technical support and a full three-year warranty.
