Triplex VC16STe DVR under real world test conditions

Vista has had both its Triplex VC16STe DVR and its ProtosIV VPC430 DN day/night camera categorised as recommended in a recent assessment by Benchmark magazine.

The VC16STe can support multiple HDDs to deliver 1TB of integral storage. The unit delivers triplex operation, and individual settings can be established on a per-camera basis. Two independent multi-screen outputs give flexibility with regard to display options. Record rates can be up to 50 images per second. Searches can be carried out by time and date, alarm action or by motion. Other features include single channel audio recording, remote viewing, and optional EPOS and text input capture.
The VPC430/DN features a 1/3 inch ExView chipset, and delivers 540TV lines. Sensitivity is at 0.4 lux at F1.2 for colour mode, and in monochrome mode this falls to 0.07 lux at F1.2. The camera also features a DVR feature, which reduces noise to lower recorded file sizes. The level at which the camera switches for day/night operation can also be adjusted, with a manual override facility integrating well with the Vista VIRP range of illuminators.
Benchmark ratings are based on "real-world" tests that are carried out in the field, not in laboratories, so they give a good indication of what results are likely to be achieved on-site.
"We're delighted that every Vista product tested by Benchmark to date has been awarded the 'Recommended' status," says Andrew Pigram, Vista brand director. "We set our standards very high in terms of product quality and longevity, and it's great that our efforts are being consistently recognised."
