Pixim DPS technology powers new Vista camera
Mountain View, California (USA)
"The Pixim Orca chipset produces industry-leading images, even in very high-contrast environments and other difficult lighting conditions," said Andrew Pigram, Vista brand director. "Incorporating the Pixim technology into the Vista VIRD camera significantly expands our market opportunity, delivering a solution that captures crisp, clear images across myriad applications."
The new Pixim-powered Vista VIRD camera complements the current family of Vista dome cameras, adding the ability to perform well under variable and extreme lighting conditions. It is fitted with a Manual White Balance feature for maintaining correct color balance and, because it is a true day/night camera, it ensures that correct, high-quality color images are produced during the day and monochrome images at night.
In addition to the Pixim-provided imaging capabilities, the Vista VIRD dome offers distinct advantages for camera installers and end-users alike, including a vari-focal lens; sturdy toughened polycarbonate casing that resists impact, corrosion and weather; fine-adjustment three-axis gimble for mounting on either a ceiling or wall; a removable strip that allows installers to use the same dome in both a flush- or surface-mounted application; easy, menu-driven set-up and control of advanced as well as basic features; and 12V/24V flexible operation that is suitable for use in all low-voltage applications.
"Vista is the U.K.'s best-selling brand of CCTV equipment, and their choice of our Digital Pixel System technology demonstrates their commitment to providing their customers with the best-quality video images for a wide range of security applications," said John Monti, vice president of marketing and business development, Pixim. "With the majority of applications today reporting variable lighting conditions, we know that this new Pixim-powered Vista VIRD camera will be appreciated wherever highest-quality images are valued by security professionals."
