PC-based DVR system

Taipei, Taiwan

Advantech, a trusted ePlatform provider, launch its industrial-grade, PC-based digital video system (DVS), the DVS-500; a DVR capture, storage and analysis solution.

It is designed to meet the requirements of today's modern security market in small and medium-sized business, community security, retail operation, clinics and others. The DVS-500 features the Intel 945G Express Chipset with optional video capture modules, offering solutions ranging from MPEG-4 software encoding to MPEG-4 to H.264 hardware encoding. Advantech's advanced thermal design of both the hard disk and capture card, combined with compact size and low noise (less than 40dB), allows the DVS-500 to operate reliably in environments with limited space or noise concerns. The DVS-500 meets strict demand for 24/7/365 high availability with zero-tolerance for down-time.

The DVS-500's industrial motherboard delivers scaleable performance, from the Intel Celeron D to the Intel Core 2 Duo processor. DVR applications demand intensive disk and capture card utilization. The DVS-500 employs a unique thermal design to enhance reliability. In addition, the chassis' compact size (370×88×370 mm) supports two PCI slots: one for an optional video capture card and another for a digital input / output module. Moreover, with an optional IR remote controller the DVS-500 can easily be controlled and managed by users.

With the DVS-500, software development customers can configure a high performance, thermally efficient 16-channel, H.264 based system, replacing commercial PCs traditionally used in DVR applications, with assurance that all components are highly compatible. The system aims to provide security solutions for retail and SME customers by offering outstanding performance. Combined with Advantech Configure to Order Service (CTOS), the DVS-500 can be additionally customized to meet customer specific requirements. Advantech provides a complete solution, which includes hardware, full system assembly, "burn-in" testing, logistics and RMA services, and an extended 3-year warranty service. In brief, the DVS-500 is highly compatible for use with today's DVR applications and components.
