The embedded Linux design is capable of recording multiple analogue and IP cameras under different recording conditions including activation by motion detection. (The design illustrated is capable of supporting two 2.5 inch hard disc drives; however alternative solutions are able to support other requirements, including a removable caddy option).

Little Gem supports PAL (or NTSC) and IP data formats, enabling combinations of standard, infra-red or other specialist cameras, to be recorded with date and time embedded. It can be supplied in either standard or custom enclosures.

The Wavestore software provides an easy and intuitive interface that enables users with minimal experience to search for any function by camera reference, by event or by time and date, and be able to view the images and copy selected video clips or still images to DVD or Mass Storage Device.

Deployed with a LAN, WAN or wireless interface, a remote PC user (subject to user access and pass-word control) can view and download live or archive video, using the free Wavestore viewer software.

A physically smaller IP only version is available, without the analogue compression card, and fulfils the requirement for a powerful yet small, lightweight and unobtrusive recording capability.

The Little Gem operates from a single 5 volt supply rated at 14 Watts, while the IP only design is rated at 8 Watts. The video capture card and processor assembly measures 50 x 120 x 180 mm. The solution can be provided in standard or a ruggedised housing for in-vehicle and other demanding applications.

Little Gem is ideal for emergency service applications, trains and public service vehicles or for covert deployment and temporary surveillance situations such as sporting events, public assemblies and accident or crime sites.
