Milestone launches Japanese business at Danish embassy in Tokyo

Milestone Systems, a leading provider of open platform IP video surveillance software, officially launched their business in Japan with new partner KT Workshop at the Royal Danish Embassy in Tokyo on May 18th.

Milestone Systems has formed a new partnership in Japan with KT Workshop, who has built up a significant customer base installing Paxton Access Control solutions. A good percentage of these customers are estimated to be interested in integrating with IP video surveillance in order to gain increased value and efficiencies in managing their business security. The Milestone XProtect Enterprise IP video software is already integrated with the latest version of Paxton Access Control in Europe, so it is a natural progression to extend this offering to the Japanese security systems market.
The Royal Danish Embassy in Japan is one of the customer sites where KT Workshop has installed the integrated solution with Milestone XProtect IP video surveillance and Paxton Access Control software, operating with Panasonic and JVC network cameras. The Embassy was the location for the launch event on the 18th of May 2006.
The launch event included a presentation from Milestone CEO Lars Thinggaard, and an introduction from KT Workshop Managing Director Seiichi Kido. There was also a special appearance by Simon Harris, Senior Industry Analyst for IMS Research, who will spoke on "Trends in the Security Industry". The integrated Milestone/Paxton IP video and access control solution will be demonstrated and available for hands-on operation. A reception was held afterwards at the residence of the Danish Ambassador to Japan, Mr. Freddy Svane.
