Jewsons upgrades to Chiron Iris Touch alarm signalling technology
Reading, Berkshire
David Clark, Jewson’s Business Controls and Procedures Manager, says the upgrade will help the company maintain the highest levels of security and take advantage of new monitoring capabilities in the future. “SSS and Chiron have delivered a very efficient solution that has proved its value to us over the last year,” he says. “We have very specific requirements and in each case we have been able to switch to the Iris system easily, and without disruption – and the benefits are immediate.”
The Iris system is unique in being independently certified by the VdS testing house, to EN 50131, 50136 and EN 54-21 standards, it is a solution that improves security and efficiency at every stage. In fact, according to Chiron, the Iris range is now Europe’s best selling alarms-over-IP system, and globally it is allowing users to dispense with expensive fixed lines whilst maintaining totally secure and robust monitoring.
Commenting on the adoption of Iris by Jewson, Vikram Datar, Chiron’s regional manager for Northern Europe, said that move reflected a steady switch to more flexible, multi-path alarm monitoring both in the UK and internationally. “More than 100 ARCs around Europe now use Iris technology to monitor alarms for customers of all sizes, from domestic users to multinational corporations. All users benefit but the cost savings are especially significant for users with multiple branches to protect.”
