Icon is latest to join ADI-Gardiner NVIPs

Lancashire, UK

Nottingham based Icon information technology Ltd is the latest company to qualify as an ADI-Gardiner network video integration partner (NVIP), the two-year old scheme establishing a group of nationwide installers able to provide the specialised skill sets to install and maintain fully integrated network and security systems.

Founded nine years ago as IT specialists, Icon has been operating a data cabling division since 2003, and has formed close links with ADI-Gardiner's integrated systems division since developing a growing business in IP and network installations.

"We believe strongly in accreditations and made a considerable commitment to training, which also covered health and safety, in order to prove to customers that we are genuinely qualified in integrated systems," says Icon's managing director Greg Press. "Ours is in effect a self-regulating industry, and we are keen to be able to differentiate ourselves in this way. Achieving ADI-Gardiner NVIP status puts us in a select group of recognised installers capable of providing companies with installed, configured and tested IP based systems."

Icon information technology has recently completed two major projects of this type, the first for one of the country's biggest manufacturers of construction materials, British Gypsum, who can now monitor lorry parks, production lines and the mines where its raw material originates. The second project was based at a new 90,000 sq metre plant in Derby for HL Plastics, and involved the whole IT infrastructure, including CCTV, audio-visual and data cabling.

"ADI-Gardiner continues to sign up installers to its NVIP program, delivering to the market partners with high levels of knowledge in IP Surveillance, IP Access Control and IP Environmental Management," concludes Darryl Marshall of ADI-Gardiner "Icon information technology Ltd is ideally positioned, with skills in all aspects of information technology, to install IP physical security. Icon is able to consult on the correct specification of brand name IP cameras, determine the data storage that is required and recommend the best software to manage the system."
