Human Recognition Systems appoints Aviation Managing Director

Liverpool, Merseyside

Human Recognition Systems (HRS) has appointed Aviation Managing Director Jim Slevin to its board with immediate effect. The appointment is aimed at the company's target to deliver unique and personalised airport passenger experiences and to support the aviation industry to drive operational benefits and improved security through proven biometric and analytic technology.
HRS has enabled some of the UK’s leading airports including London Gatwick, Edinburgh and London City Airport to apply intelligent criteria to both staff and passengers, with Jim Slevin playing a key role in driving HRS’ success within the aviation industry. In addition to providing strategic insight, the board appointment will ensure representation of HRS’ aviation business unit which is a key element of the company’s future strategy. The heightened visibility within the organisation’s leadership team will further bolster HRS’ support of existing aviation customers as well as its continued growth within the sector.

Jim brings extensive experience to the board having spent more than twenty years working within the aviation sector in a range of technical and management roles, including Group Security Risk and Identity Manager at BAA. He became Aviation Managing Director at HRS in 2013 after five years as the company’s Transport Business Development Manager and Aviation Business Unit Manager.

“My appointment recognises the growth of the aviation division of our business at HRS and how important this sector is for the company going forward," states Jim Slevin. “Ensuring that the right person, with the right capabilities, is in the right place at the right time is absolutely critical to the aviation sector and our vision of a future airport that offers an end-to-end biometric passenger experience is key to achieving this. As such, my role on the board provides me with the perfect platform through which to drive this activity forward."

Jim Slevin’s appointment follows the recent news that company founder Neil Norman has been re-appointed as HRS’ Chief Executive, with a key aim of establishing the company’s I AM product suite as the global standard for the safe and effective management of controlled working environments such as airports.

"Neil Norman’s passionate and committed character is a very positive influence on the company and I’m pleased to now be working at board level alongside him," adds Jim Slevin. “Through my appointment there is now a balanced set of dynamics on the board and a complementary set of skills and knowledge that we share between us. It’s a pleasure and a privilege to be invited to join such a dedicated team."
