Boa Vista (Portuguese meaning “good view” or “nice sight”) is the capital of the Brazilian state of Roraima. Situated on the western bank of the River Branco, the city lies 220 km away from Brazil’s border with Venezuela.
Inflated populations in the inner cities result in crime, vandalism and a major target for terrorism. This directly impacts the Boa Vista community’s economic, political and personal well-being. To prevent the crime and violence, to create a better environment for all people to live, work and socialise, Dahua has played a part in providing a safe city security solution for Boa Vista.
The Dahua safe city security solution is based on a combination of multimedia video and data. A Dahua network camera monitoring facility is situated within the CBD and operates 7 days per week, 24 hours per day. The facility monitors over 100 cameras across the Boa Vista region. The network cameras can observe and detect incidents in real-time.
As for the storage-end Dahua offers its 4832 network video recorder which supports 5MP HD video stream decoding. It supports a maximum of 32-channels of IP camera input. In terms of video encode format, it integrates with H.264/MJPEG video compression algorithms. It supports a maximum of 200Mbps incoming bandwidth and up to 5MP resolution preview and playback. Multicast video streams further reduce the bandwidth required for streaming high-quality video. The Dahua 4832 network video recorder can work with multiple kinds of cameras in active environments, onsite and remotely.
"Dahua safe city security solution has enabled Boa Vista to implement real-time monitoring and recording,” said William Zhou, Sales Director of Latin-America and Africa at Dahua Technology. “It has played an important role in dealing with emergencies and guaranteeing the security of the whole city.”
