Cardax FT v5.21
Hamilton, New Zealand
The Salto Mifare offline door reader is an integral part of the door hardware or 'escutcheon' and manages the operation of the door lock for valid users only. As the unit is battery operated, installation is quick, easy and cost effective. CommCard provides full integration of cardholder and access management, alarm management and site activity reporting for Salto XS4 Mifare wire-free, offline readers.
The integration allows a site to leverage off existing investment in Mifare technology, replacing mechanical keyed-entry doors and securing lockers or cabinets with Mifare Smartcard access which is fully integrated with the site's Cardax FT security management system. Card encoding is achieved in a single pass and there is no need to duplicate data entry effort between disparate systems.
The CommCard solution is particularly suited to doors that:
• require some level of security, but the cost of a fully wired and monitored door cannot be justified
• do not require real time monitoring
• generally do not require access mode changes.
Ideal applications include student or mine campsite accommodation and lower security office doors, cupboards and cabinets.
Other features of Cardax FT v5.21 include a range of enhancements to core system functionality delivering improved usability:
• Alarm Notes - Configurable pick-list Alarm Notes can now be pre-configured, allowing Operators to select single or multiple standardized notes from a list.
• Mifare Smartcards - advanced security enhancement. Mifare Smartcards store a cardholder's relevant access control information securely in an encrypted sector of the card chip's memory. GSMS now provides an optional level of security for Mifare Smartcards and Readers, to protect against the threat of card cloning.
• Activity Report enhancements deliver the ability to report on activities over the last 'x' number of hours. The report output can also be filtered by the alarm priority of relevant alarm events.
• Unlocked Doors Report - This provides an operator with an instant view of all potentially unsecure doors on a site, and is particularly useful when guards/operators are taking over a shift.
Gallagher Security Management Systems and DVTel have also recently completed a high level bi-directional interface between Cardax FT and the DVTel Latitude system. In response to events, Cardax FT can send messages via TCP/IP to the Latitude system to start recording, execute a PTZ macro and many other functions. In return, Latitude can pass messages to Cardax FT when, for example, motion is detected. The event appears within the Cardax FT event viewers. Cardax FT can then manage the event accordingly such as raising an alarm, locking down the site, or executing a macro. Live video can be viewed within the Cardax FT system and events or alarms can be linked to video clips which can be recalled from within Cardax FT.
