Assuria Cloud Security Suite uses Amazon Web Services

Reading, Berkshire

UK based Assuria Ltd has launched its Cloud Security Suite (CSS), a range of IT security monitoring solutions for enterprises using Amazon Web Services (AWS). Assuria CSS provides an easy path for AWS customers to benefit from corporate data centre levels of security and compliance monitoring in their AWS cloud operations.
Enterprises and government departments are increasingly looking to use a blend of on-premise, private cloud and public cloud services to reduce their operating costs and to increase the flexibility of IT services delivery. Despite the investment by cloud providers in increasing levels of security services, enterprises have been discouraged from moving sensitive applications and data into the cloud because of security concerns. One hurdle has been the lack of security information and event management (SIEM) solutions that are able to collect and process the new types of rich security and operations data available from cloud providers such as AWS.

CSS enables AWS customers to fully exploit the security and operational data available from the core AWS services for security monitoring, forensic investigations and compliance purposes. Now, with this first release of Assuria CSS, according to the company, public cloud security monitoring has at last caught up with on-premise data centre security monitoring.

“I think Assuria CSS is really going to challenge people’s perceptions of the level of enterprise security monitoring that is possible when using AWS services”, said Geoff Johnstone, CTO of Assuria.

Assuria CSS is built on ALM, a hybrid SIEM and forensic log management technology that has been designed to collect, secure and process any format of log and event data. If required, ALM will also normalise and export to third party analytics services without loss of integrity. Traditionally used by the most demanding commercial and government customers, with complex on-premise IT estates, Assuria’s ALM technology is designed to bring this same level of efficiency and integrity to the challenge of monitoring security in the cloud.

Terry Pudwell, Director and Co-Founder of Assuria said, “We set out to remove one of the last security hurdles associated with running blended on-premise, private and public cloud operations. Making our successful SIEM software technology work in fully integrated native mode across all those platforms enables us to deliver a common security monitoring solution across the whole spectrum of enterprise computing.”
