HID Global wins 2 Homeland Security Awards

Austin, Tx

HID Global has been recognised for its HID Nomad 30 Pocket Reader and Workforce ID solutions as winners of the 2020 Astors Homeland Security awards.

The HID Nomad 30 Pocket Reader enables end-users, such as law enforcement officers, to pair their own mobile devices with biometric reader hardware and perform matching within minutes while in the field. The pocket reader’s rapid identification capabilities offer improved operational efficiency and reduce time and booking costs associated with processing at police stations.

“We are proud to receive this award for our Nomad 30 Pocket Reader, which facilitates rapid identification in the field and recognises HID’s mission to enable and support law enforcement agencies and the communities they serve,” said Steve Currie, Senior Vice President and Head of Extended Access Technologies with HID Global.

Workforce ID is HID’s new cloud-based identity and access management platform that enables a seamless, effortless experience when using identity credentials to access physical and digital workplaces. It offers a completely digital and turnkey deployment for administrators, and removes the complexity of installing, configuring and supporting on-premise software. For employees, contractors and visitors, it provides an ultra-convenient user experience with several streamlined digital workflows, such as visitor self-check-in and rules-based access to buildings and IT resources according to employees’ modified work schedules.

“We are pleased with this industry recognition for Workforce ID, which addresses the dynamic cyber and physical security needs, as well as regulatory compliance challenges, of today’s diverse work environments,” said Brad Jarvis, Senior Vice President and Head of Identity & Access Management Solutions with HID Global. “Our solution’s growing workforce and visitor identity management applications will continue to drive efficiency and further streamline workplace processes.”

The Astors Homeland Security Awards programme aims to recognise some of the most cutting-edge and forward-thinking security solutions on the market and honours distinguished government and vendor solutions that deliver enhanced value, benefit and intelligence to end users in a variety of government, homeland security, enterprise, and public safety vertical markets.
