Stockholm, Sweden

Nexus Group, Gallagher Security and Acre Security are the finalist nominees for the ID & Access Control category of the DIA 2024.

As promised, and following on from yesterday's announcement of the Detektor International Award finalists in the Alarm & Detection category, today we focus on the finalists nominated for the best product in the ID & Access Control category.

The nominated products will be studied and considered for their innovative & technological merits and originality by the Detektor International panel of judges and the winners will be announced at the Awards ceremony in Stockholm at the banquet on the evening of the 22nd October, at the start of the Skydd security show taking place in the city from the 22nd - 24th October 2024.

Detektor International Awards - ID & Access Control Category finalists

Here are the final three nominees for the ID & Access Control category in no particular order:

Nexus Group of Sweden for the Nexus x Stid

Nexus x Stid makes physical access and digital authentication seamless, by giving mobile virtual smart cards, which are already used for digital authentication, physical access. Thus, organisations can issue PKI-based digital identities stored on a mobile virtual smart card in the user's mobile phone. This mobile ID will allow users to visually identify themselves, access doors via Bluetooth or NFC, log into digital resources, sign digital documents and encrypt email. By using a single system, organisations can now have control over the issued identities and roll out well-defined access management policies for all their users across the physical and digital domains.

Nexus x Stid is the result of a collaboration between the Swedish identity management company Nexus and the French card technology manufacturer Stid.

Gallagher Security of New Zealand for the Controller 7000

With streamlined upgrades and advanced protection, this powerful and networked controller marks the launch of a platform designed to secure the needs of today and tomorrow. In this product Gallagher boasts an extremely powerful microprocessor, which executes access decisions many times faster and resynchronises the cardholder database in half the time compared to before. But above all, the C7000 has risen to tomorrow's cyber environment. With built-in cyber security via a powerful iMX8 System-on-chip and an NXP Edgelocke, a Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) is ensured. This means that the controller has a segregated area of memory and CPU that is protected from the rest of the CPU by encryption. Thus, the data cannot be read or manipulated by any code outside that environment. Furthermore, the solution provides a guarantee of software authenticity on each device.

Acre Security of the USA for the Acre Access Control

Acre Access Control is a cloud-based access control solution that – with the same code base and user interface – can also be deployed on-prem, that is, in the customer's local environment. For on-prem users, this means that a possible later move to the cloud can take place seamlessly. The solution offers several integration options, for example for visitor management, burglar alarms and property automation. The Functional Integration Toolkit Scripts (FITS) also supports workflow efficiency. Visitors and new hires can easily navigate self-registration, sending text messages to start the process, while new hires can quickly submit selfies to get their mobile credentials. Contractors are given instant access through one-time codes delivered directly to their mobile devices. Employees can also reserve workspaces and arrange after-hours access, manage all approvals via Teams or SMS.

That concludes today's finalists in the ID & Access Control category, watch this space tomorrow for the Detektor International Awards finalists in the Video Surveillance Category.
