The three nominated finalists' products will be studied and considered for their innovative & technological merits and originality by the Detektor International panel of judges, and the winners will be announced at the Awards ceremony in Stockholm at the banquet on the evening of the 22nd October, at the start of the Skydd security show taking place in the city from the 22nd - 24th October 2024.
Detektor International Awards - Video Surveillance Category finalists
The following are the final three nominees for the Alarm & Detection category in no particular order:
Mobotix of Germany for the Mobotix One
Mobotix One is an open camera platform and video surveillance system that combines security and robustness with intelligence. The fibreglass-reinforced, saltwater-resistant housing enables use in the harshest environments. With an application-oriented design, security solutions can be tailored for, for example, critical infrastructure or other demanding vertical markets and their special needs.
For the Mobotix One, there is also the Mobotix Activitysensor One app, which with AI-based object detection can make the sensor identify and track the movements of people and vehicles, but also detect stationary objects. This makes it particularly suitable for perimeter protection and intrusion detection. With its AI and deep learning-based apps, the system can also contribute to process-optimised workflows in industry as well as the healthcare or transport sectors, to take a few examples.
I-Pro of Japan for the I-Pro X Series
The I-Pro X series intelligent cameras use on-the-spot AI learning and enable users or integrators to teach them about specific objects they want to monitor. For example, operators can teach the camera to recognise a logo on a truck and send out an alert when it arrives at the loading dock. A hospital can keep track of ambulances arriving at the emergency room. An airport can track aircraft arriving at the gates. These data-driven forensic searches and alerting capabilities harvested directly using edge processing in the X-Series cameras enable more automated workflows that help security teams be proactive rather than merely reactive.
The cameras can also quickly and safely transform existing non-AI network cameras into AI smart devices. With data-driven forensic searches and alerting capabilities, operator efficiency is improved. And with AI Processing Relay, false alarms can be filtered out.
Axis Communications of Sweden for the Axis Q1809-LE Bullet Camera
With 8K resolution (30fps), this all-in-one camera for outdoor use delivers extremely detailed images even over great distances. The camera – has a custom made telephoto lens (50 – 150mm) and 21°-7° horizontal field of view making it ideal for long distance perimeter surveillance. 3x zoom also makes it ideal for identification purposes. Furthermore, the camera has a 4/3-inch image sensor for exceptional low-light performance and optimised IR enables surveillance in total darkness without the need for additional lighting. With many possible applications, the camera can serve everything from smart cities and airport perimeters to arenas, where it can also deliver valuable metadata for effective forensic searches in real-time or in recorded video.
Built on a dual Axis system-on-chip, the camera includes Axis Edge Vault, a hardware-based cyber security platform that protects the device and sensitive information from unauthorised access. It also offers FIPS 140-3 Level 3 certified secure cryptographic key storage and operations.
That concludes the shortlist of successful nominees in the Video Surveillance category of the Detektor International Awards 2024, and tomorrow we will be announcing the nominees in our final category, IoT & Security Solutions.
