During the first day of Skydd – October 20th – this year's winner of the Detektor International Award will be presented. The ceremony will take place at Teknikscenen at 4:30 p.m. The Detektor International Award was established by the magazine Detektor International in 2000 and is one of the most well-known and prestigious product awards in the global security industry.
Multinational jury
The jury responsible for nominating and voting for the winners consists of 7 editorial staff from the magazine Detektor International, who come from four different countries: Sweden (3), Great Britain (2), Denmark (1) and Taiwan (1).
"We want to reward innovative design and product development and highlight solutions that, with their usability, can provide great customer benefit," says Lennart Alexandrie, CEO of AR Media International and editor-in-chief and founder of Detektor magazine.
Four categories
The Detektor International Award is an international award divided into four categories, in each of which three products/solutions have been nominated:
- Alarm & Detection.
- ID & Access Control.
- Video surveillance.
- IoT & Security Solutions
The first prize winner in each category is awarded the “Best Product Award” and the two remaining solutions each receive an “Innovative Achievement Award”.

Product: Brivo Genius Mobile Agent
Brivo Genius Mobile Agent is an AI-based agent for access control that enables the control of the security system with regular speech or text directly from Brivo's mobile app. For example, the operator can lock an entire facility, unlock doors and manage users through simple commands in natural language. The unique thing is that the solution not only answers questions but can also perform safety-critical actions. In an emergency, for example, a voice command can activate a complete lockdown, which reduces the number of manual steps and can shorten response time when every second counts. Brivo describes Genius Mobile Agent as the industry's first voice-controlled agent-based solution for mobile emergency locking in access control.

Fusion is Aritech's unified security platform that brings together intrusion detection, access control and video in a common ecosystem. VAIA is Zenitel’s compact all-in-one platform for voice evacuation alarm (PAVA) and public address, where system control, DSP audio processing, amplifier and battery charging are combined in a single 1U unit. According to Zenitel, VAIA is the first EN 54 certified PAVA system to integrate these core functions into a single product and the only one in a 1U format. VAIA delivers up to 1,000 W RMS of continuous amplification and advanced DSP for high speech intelligibility. By replacing multiple separate components with a single unit, the solution reduces the need for rack space, cabling and hardware, which simplifies installation and maintenance and can lower the total system cost.
