Genetec extends SV security network appliance family

Montreal, Canada

Genetec is releasing the SV-16v3 network security appliance, the latest addition in the Genetec SV family of network security appliances will be powered by an Intel Core i3 processor for greater processing speed, flexibility and value for customers. It will also offer connectivity to the Genetec Cloud Archives Service for extended video retention and reduced storage investment.

With support for the Security Center Mobile and Web Client, the SV-16v3 network security appliance will provide real-time notifications, alarm management and video viewing within Security Center from any location. The pre-installed SV Control Panel will offer a streamlined step-by-step set-up and configuration wizard for quick deployment. An automatic update tool will assure the latest software versions are installed as soon as the system is set-up.

The SV-16v3 has been redesigned with a new case and packaging to maintain a consistent small form factor. New internal hardware updates and software will provide better recording and support for local video decoding, doubling as an operator workstation that provides a convenient and versatile solution for small camera and door count deployments.

"The SV-16v3 is one of the most versatile turnkey network security appliances for both our enterprise and small-and-medium size businesses including retail and banking, and it comes complete with a full version of Security Center. The new hardware and storage features will ensure top performance for any end-user," said Jimmy Palatsoukas, Senior Product Marketing Manager, Genetec.

Designed to support up to 16 edge devices and display video and access control events locally, the SV-16 appliance provides an ideal solution to enable customers to consolidate multiple remote sites within a single security environment, or for use in small installations with the need to unify security operations such as video surveillance and access control. The SV-16 is compatible with a wide range of IP cameras, encoders, readers and door controllers, supported by a comprehensive ecosystem of technology partners, allowing customers to choose the hardware that will best suit their application needs.

The SV-16 provides a unified view of video and access control events, allowing operators to rapidly respond to incidents, with access to powerful search and reporting tools that help accelerate investigations. Operators can verify cardholder pictures against live or recorded video associated to access control events for doors within the system, and automatically trigger alarms based on video and access control events.

Genetec is showing this latest addition to the Genetec SV family of security network appliances at the ASIS show in Anaheim, California this week and the product is planned to be available before the end of 2015.
