Winners from three continents

The speculation and anticipation is over for 2016 –the official winners of the Detektor International Awards 2016 are from three continents - iLOQ from Finland, SpotterRF from the USA and Sony from Japan.

On the evening of 16th November, and in conjunction with Sectech, in Copenhagen, security industry professionals joined together for a lavish banquet at the Planetarium to celebrate the winning products for what is known to be one of the most prestigious awards in the security industry. This year’s award winners join the distinguished portfolio of products and companies that have won this prize since its inception in the year 2000.

The prestige associated with this award is derived from the fact that there is no formal entry process. Instead, each year, the Detektor International Awards panel of jurors made up of an experienced international team of industry veterans, scrutinise the security market to discover the few unique and deserving products that demonstrate the most innovation, versatility and user friendliness.

Further debate and discussion produces the four finalists in each of three categories – Access Control, Alarm & Detection and CCTV. And from that point a secret ballot then determines the overall winner of the Best Product Award in each category. The second place winner receives the Highly Commended Product award in the form of a diploma and the runners up each receive a certificate for Innovative Achievement.

To reflect the originality of the products and the prize, each year, unique glass sculptures are created especially for the winners by renowned global artist, Bertil Valien of Sweden.
