It has a dual-zone PIR sensor made by Optex and houses an 868 MHz transmitter for communication with Jablotron's Oasis security system.

The JA-89P is powered by a long-life lithium battery and can report low-voltages to the Oasis system for efficient battery management. Any unauthorised opening or tearing off of the detector is instantly signalled.

The 300 metre radio range and 10 metre/90° PIR coverage allows a wide area to be monitored, and professional environmental approval to EN 50131-1 class 4 and an IP54 housing ensure its suitability for typically used outdoor environmental conditions.
