Tyco takes Norwegian brand to worldwide markets

Strømmen, Norway

Dag Markussen, MD at Norway based Amsmart

The Norwegian IoT company, Amsmart is on the verge of an international breakthrough now that Tyco Security Products has chosen to promote their solutions worldwide.

"It has been a long and unbelievably exciting journey," says owner and General Manager Dag Markussen. "We have been working with this for 8 years and we are finally having a breakthrough".

Markussen has operated the security wholesaler Elkotek Sikkerhet for more than 20 years. Eight years ago he started to develop the cloud service under the name “Alarmmannen”. Today the company is named Amsmart AS and the business model has changed to a white-label cloud service for alarm and home automation.

“Our customers are typical small and medium sized companies within security and installation, who need access to better technological solutions to be able to compete with the larger players in the marketplace” says Markussen.

“It is really exciting when one of the world’s leading security manufacturers, Tyco Security Products, chooses to work with us as a strategic partner and are promoting our solution world-wide”.

On April 27th Amsmart arranged a kick-off for Tyco’s European sales team together with a group of Tyco’s selected customers. Today the company is on its way into Italy, France, Germany, Great Britain, South-Africa and Finland, in addition to their home market Norway and Sweden.

"Amsmart is flexible and adaptable. They have listened and adapted the solution to our customer’s needs” says Jonas Adlergård, head of Tyco Security Products Nordic. “Amsmart comes from the security industry and understands our customer’s needs and demands in a different way to the traditional home automation providers”.

"Amsmart can continue to grow organically, but we see the potential in an industrial partner as a shareholder" explains Markussen. "We want to increase both sales and development speed, which is why we will start talking with potential investors during the autumn."
