Tokyo fish retail chain turns to IP surveillance

Tokyo, Japan

Compro continues to win contracts in, Japan, perhaps one of the most difficult-to-sell markets. A traditional fish store chain in Tokyo recently installed Compro IP540 PTZ day/night network cameras in an effort to beef up the anti-theft measures in its three shops.
Other than being used to help reduce store theft loss, these Compro PTZ cameras are also helping store managers respond to unexpected incidents in each shop.

Each of the three PTZ cameras is wall mounted to keep an eye on the open chillers at each shop, and is connected to the internet via a Wimax network router monunted alongside the camera.

The chain owner is able to see the live video of the three stores from his tablet computer and monitor all three cameras simultaneouly using a quad-view mode. The hardware pan/tilt capability of Compro IP540 allows the manager to follow supicious people to wherever they are in the stores.

The IP540 can also auto-patrol the store when needed. In addition, the camera’s intuitive browser interface cuts down the owner’s learning time and ensures smooth operation of the cameras.
