Ten-print live scanner gets FBI certification

Gyeonggi, South Korea

Suprema announces that the company's RealScan-10 ten-print live scanner has been tested in full compliance and received certification from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for the agency's Integrated Automated Fingerprint Identification System (IAFIS) Image Quality Specification (IQS) Appendix F standards. FBI IQS standards for live-scanning systems are mandatory for the purpose of FBI and most countries' government procurements.

Suprema RealScan-10 is a compact-sized portable live-scanner using the company's leading optical image processing technology. The device is designed to perform high-speed image capturing for single finger flats, rolls and four-finger slaps and transfers image data to PC via high speed USB2.0 connection. It also features IP53 rugged structure to perform under harsh environments.

"RealScan-10 is designed to respond increasing demand on ten-print live scanner from worldwide markets. It is a perfect blend of our cutting-edge optical technology and advanced fingerprint algorithm. Along with previously FBI-certified RealScan-P, the palm-print scanner, we are developing extensive product line-up for live scanning systems. Based on certified products and expertise from local AFIS projects, we are planning to expand our business to the international projects," commented Young S. Moon, vice president of Suprema.
