High reliability has been a major concern when it comes to challenges faced by city surveillance. Additionally, due to the existing IT infrastructure and a large geographic coverage with thousands of cameras, the integration and installation also create obstacles that need to be overcome. To resolve the issues, Surveon fulfilled the project requirement with 3000 cameras which were fully compatible with the 3rd-party VMS solution, giving the customer an easy integrated option for the project. Moreover, with the industrial-grade components, the cameras are designed to remain in good working order for a few years with an average failure rate of less than 0.03%, also reducing a huge maintenance cost for partners.
However, due to some accidents that occurred a few years ago, the police unit in southern Taiwan needed to replace some damaged security equipment in the area. Once again, Surveon provided more than 1200 cameras to help rebuild the security system. Designed for city surveillance, the Surveon CAM2441SC (demo video as shown below) not only features professional functions including HDR (high dynamic range) and ROI (region of interest), but also supports offline recording that automatically stores the video to the SD card during downtime and resends the video to the NVR when the network is recovered to compensate for the limited bandwidth issue that might be encountered on outdoor installation and monitoring.
“Surveon is one of the few manufacturers bringing truly end-to-end proven solutions with in-house design and manufacturing to ensure the best quality, and it has answered our demanding needs for city surveillance. Above all, the low failure rate of the cameras is really impressive.” said the city surveillance project manager.
