Spotcam targets International markets

After a series of successful product launching events in Taiwan, Spotcam is strategically expanding its reach into international markets.

Earlier in July, Spotcam launched its first cloud based home monitoring camera, designed for image quality and with an easy to use cloud interface - this product immediately won a top 10 innovative products classification in the 2014 Taipei Computer Application Show and according to the company is now seeing a rapid user number growth as a result. With all the buzz, Spotcam is quickly starting to catch market attention and has already gained coverage through all the major media outlets in Taiwan.

Having experienced such a success in Taiwan, Spotcam is now expanding its reach to the international markets and is looking to appoint distributors around the world. "Taiwan is one of the leading countries in terms of video surveillance technology and manufacturing, we chose to design and manufacture here to make sure that Spotcam provide the best quality to our customers. However, our target market is not only Taiwan, Spotcam is created to change how people use home monitoring systems and our target is the US, EU, Japan, and all other countries where Wifi infrastructure is more mature,” said Jacky Lin, CEO of Spotcam.

Home monitoring equipment penetration in the developed countries such as Europe, the US and Japan is higher than other regions in the world, and Spotcam is right now talking to several major consumer IT distributors in the US, France, Germany, Japan, and some other countries. Lin says Spotcam HD will be available in multiple countries in September, and he estimates that Spotcam will become a leading brand for home monitoring devices before the end of 2015.

"Spotcam will face more competition when entering international markets, that’s for sure, but we are not afraid of competition. Currently there are just too many low quality home monitoring cameras in the market selling at low prices, consumers don’t really have a choice. Spotcam will not compete with those existing cameras on price, we will win customer’s minds by providing top quality products and ground breaking cloud services,” Lin stressed.
