Simonsvoss opens new 6 million Euro site

Unterfoehrung, Germany

Simonsvoss has invested around six million euros in a new production and logistics centre in Osterfeld, Germany, some 20Km away from their previous Petersburg site.
A new manufacturing facility was urgently required as the former site had already reached the limits of its production capacity. The new premises boasts more than 3,650 m² overall and features an incoming goods area, a manufacturing workshop, a warehouse, a shipping department, quality management and an after-sales centre.

"We will be even more effective for our clients thanks to greater availability of product variants, shorter delivery times and a faster after-sales service. With the introduction of a warehouse management system, automated warehouse lifts and carousel racks, we will also achieve much faster, much more efficient production," stated an enthusiastic Operations Manager Peter Heimbürge, obviously pleased with the new manufacturing site.

"The new plant enables us to double our manufacturing capacity for our digital cylinders, our digital Smart Handle door fittings and Smart Relay. This is another step towards ensuring sustainable growth for our company and expanding our market position," explains Bernhard Sommer, Chairman of the Management Board at Simonsvoss Technologies GmbH.

The new Simonsvoss manufacturing and logistics centre is based on a sustainable energy concept to ensure that the ecological footprint is minimal. This requires sparing use of natural resources, the elimination of CO2 emissions and sustainable structural designs. The Simonsvoss Osterfeld building is thus made almost entirely of wood and heated using energy-saving pellets and floor heating. "We are able to help preserve the environment thanks to the ecological design for our new production plant while also creating a healthy indoor climate for our employees," commented Bernd Quade, CFO.
