Hotels worldwide are faced with a challenge: on one side they need to find a balance between guest comfort, safety and security, energy efficiency and cost management, and on the other side they have to integrate different technology components and bring them into the dialogue.

The solution provided by Siemens was designed to ensure that technology acts as the perfect aid to anticipating guest wishes and provides benefits in terms of guest comfort and security. Every guest room in the hotel has climate control, enabling the guest to set a chosen temperature. The system will then optimise the heating, ventilating and air-conditioning to achieve that temperature, enabling the highest level of energy efficiency and cost-savings – contributing towards the international ecological ”Green Key" certificate which this St. Petersburg hotel has been awarded.

The integrated safety and security system is another example of the advanced technologies being deployed in the hotel. Guests entrust many things during their stay in a hotel – their health and safety as well as cash and other valuables. There is also the safety of the staff and the hotel structure itself to consider, in addition to a need to eliminate the considerable disruption and inconvenience caused by unwanted alarms.

The Radisson Sonya hotel is equipped with a modern fire alarm and extinguishing system which provides early and reliable fire detection. The hotel complex is protected by an integrated video surveillance system and access control system. This ensures unobtrusive control and management of a range of potential threats, from cameras monitoring unauthorised access attempts to escalation processes in the event of an incident.

The safety system has been implemented in compliance with the local regulations, as well as with the requirements of the hotel risk management team.

The solution provided for the Radisson Sonya Hotel was installed by Siemens Building Technologies’ partner, ZAO Proflngenerstroy based in St Petersburg. The close relationship and coordination between the two companies ensured the delivery of proven expertise and resulted in a successful supply, installation and commissioning of this project.
