Raytec launches new concept in CCTV lighting

Ashington, Northumberland (UK)

Raytec is releasing a whole new category in CCTV lighting with the Vario IP Network Illuminators.
Vario IP is available in both nfra-red and white-light and provides dedicated IP lighting allowing for remote set up, commissioning and adjustment of a lighting scheme.

With an integrated web interface, Vario IP network illuminators are designed to deliver control and access from anywhere on the network. An API is also available for easy platform integration. Users can easily and instantly tailor their lighting to maximise the security and safety of their site 24/7.

Key features include, dedicated IP lighting for network cameras, a Vario IP web interface, advanced lighting settings with individual or group control and platform integration via API software. These characteristics enable users to benefit from remote control from anywhere on the network, easy set-up, commissioning and maintenance which minimises labour time and costs and a quick access screen allows instant response to live events in real time. The user is able to tailor the system solution to meet the exact demands of the installation, for the best CCTV images and safety 24/7 and to provide quick and easy operation of lighting within the overall security system.

Once integrated into the networksystem, Variio IP can be accessed and controlled via an integrated web interface at anytime from anywhere. Vario IP is provided as standard with Discolight software to locate and connect to any illuminator on the network. Vario
IP allows users to have full control over their lighting at all times, to alter settings and instantly respond to operational changes or live events in real time, for the best CCTV images and safety.

Vario IP Web Interface provides a quick access screen for manual adjustment and instant response to live events, instant control of individual or group of lights, basic settings: power on/off, boost and deterrent lighting and user defined advanced settings. There is also a diagnostics facility for instant feedback on the status of each light and the system is fully password protected.

All Vario illuminators feature a holographic lens system that allows the user to change the angle of light by changing the Vario lens. A wide range of lenses are available to ensure that Vario illuminators meet the demands of any installation. A standard Vario illuminator delivers 10° circular, 35x10° and 60x25° elliptical angles out of the box. Other Vario lenses are available on request.

The holographic Vario lenses provide an elliptical (oval) beam pattern and use hot-spot reduction technology (HRT) to enhance the even illumination to standards far in excess of normal LED illuminators. Most illuminators produce a circular beam pattern, but Vario’s elliptical beam is wide horizontally, but more narrow vertically. It outputs less light pollution up into the sky and less light into the immediate foreground, reducing hot-spots or overexposure of subjects which are closer to the camera. Subjects at different depths on scene will be more evenly illuminated, in turn producing a much better CCTV image. With a more focused and targeted beam, Vario also generates longer distances than traditional illuminators.
