Raptor launches high frame rate SCMOS camera

Larne, UK

Raptor Photonics launched its new Scientific CMOS (sCMOS) camera, the Raptor Cygnet at the SPIE Security & defence event in Edinburgh last week.
The Cygnet is a full HD digital 2.1M sCMOS camera targeting the surveillance and machine vision markets. Running off a 12 bit Cameralink interface the Cygnet will provide full HD resolution up to 60Hz making it a perfect camera for shorter exposures and faster events. Scientific CMOS technology offers low detection limits in comparison with most high CCDs.

A 2.1M 2/3 inch scientific CMOS sensor with 5.5µm x 5.5µm pixels will enable ultra-sharp image resolution and with a quantum efficiency of over 63% @ 500nm and greater than 34% @ 850nm, the Cygnet offers optimum photon collection.

Available in both monochrome and colour this is a rugged, ultra-compact, light high quality camera. With a very low power requirement of less than 1.7W and weight of only 120g, this camera is ideal for hand-held, mobile or airborne systems. The camera is also available in an OEM version.

Raptor’s full HD Scientific CMOS camera is ideally suited for cutting edge low light surveillance, scientific and industrial imaging application such as airborne payload, biochip reading, border control, broadcasting, day channel vision for EO systems, industrial imaging, long range identification, spectral (hyperspectral) imaging and surveillance

It comes with powerful image analysis software (XCAP) and a standard Cameralink frame grabber (EPIX).
