Protection with Simonsvoss Wavenet Router

Unterfohrung, Germany

With its protection function, the new Simonsvoss Wavenet Router provides an effective response to one of the greatest challenge for building systems.
When fire breaks out in a building, it is essential not to waste any time. The right doors must be unlocked or blocked as required and those in charge must be informed about the emergency as soon as possible. This applies to fire incidents as well as to all other emergency situations, from a gunman attack alert through to a distress call.

The main challenge being to get an immediate picture of the overall situation and make the right decisions. The Wavenet Router set to be launched at Security Essen next month, is optionally available with a protection function and is able to release, monitor or block up to 250 doors, even if the communication and computer networks are already out of action.

For example, if a gunman is on the loose in a building, the Wavenet Router can lock certain doors securely, for example, while individual doors can also be blocked with special gunman attack transponders or cards. If a fire alarm goes off or a care staff emergency call is sent out in a nursing home, for instance, the router automatically releases the right doors, opening the way for people to escape or for help to arrive.

Apart from providing a fast response to fire, a gunman attack or other emergencies, the router is also able to report all imaginable types of incidents in buildings: when a specific temperature is exceeded, for example, or water gets into the building, or the volume in a tank exceeds or falls below a pre-set fill level, all depending on the individual requirements of each building. The signal can also always be linked to provide simultaneous, automatic unlocking and opening of certain doors. The Simonsvoss Wavenet Router thus helps operators to make the right decisions in emergency situations or breakdowns as rapidly as possible.
