Positive outlook for first Sicur Latino America

Santiago, Chile

Fifty percent of the available space for this first edition of Sicur has already been reserved, mainly by Spanish and Chilean companies and 5,000 security and safety professionals are expected to attend.
The trade fair will be held from 3 to 5 April 2013, in Espacio Riesco in Santiago de Chile. Bookings for the first edition of Sicur Latin America 2013 are going well according to organisers FISA and IFEMA.

This integrated security fair, which offers European companies a connection with the Latin American market, should be an excellent opportunity to make new business contacts and meet the estimated 5,000 professionals who are expected to attend. Professionals who are decision-makers and influence corporate purchasing and investment policies.

Add to this the fact that it is being held in Chile, Latin America's sixth largest economy and a strong market for the security sector. In the past year the Private Security business has grown 12-15% and Occupational Health and Safety is becoming increasingly important for local companies wishing to reduce operating costs related to accidents in the workplace.

This is how some of those Spanish companies and entities who have already confirmed their participation at Sicur LatinoAamerica are potentially viewing this event. Entities such as Bomberos de España (the Spanish fire brigade) who will be representing the European Security Institute, which will showcase its training programme for developing leadership skills in the emergency services - firemen, civil defence operatives, oil and mining companies etc., and other programmes exclusively geared to police and military groups.

Companies interested in extending their global footprint will also be attending the show, such as Prevengos, from Murcia in Spain, and Freematica, from Sabadell, near Barcelona in Spain, who specialise, respectively, in integrated OHS management software, and business management software. Also present will be Stanley Security Solutions from Madrid, which offers private electronic security systems for banks and large accounts, communication systems, fire protection system maintenance and solutions. Implast S.L of Madrid, which specialises in military, police and other uniforms will also be attending and will exhibit its extensive catalogue of labels and woven badges.

Some international companies from further afield will also exhibiting such as, Rubberex Malaysia SD BHD, from Malaysia, which manufacturers natural rubber, synthetic rubber and vinyl gloves for industrial and household use; Rofinor Texteis, LDA, from Portugal, which specialises in work clothes; and Longtime Racewears, from Pakistan, with its full offering of security equipment.

Sicur Latinoamerica will have focus on the areas of Occupational Health and Safety and companies offering services aimed at improving working conditions ; security in the event of emergencies and natural disasters, which is especially relevant in Chile giving its particular natural conditions which necessitate effective preparation to prevent and respond to various situations of crisis; and security focused on prevention and protection of citizens and individuals. This is aimed at people or institutions which need to improve security against factors that might affect their integrity.

Running alongside the fair, there will be a programme of activities including the Sicur 2013 Congress, where representatives from the Chilean government and the private sector will analyse the current status of the security industry against the backdrop of current challenges and opportunities. There will also be a Business Roundtable, aimed at improving professional contact and encouraging long-term businesses and strategic alliances; a Workshop, where companies and institutions will give technical, commercial talks and various exhibitions and events offered by public and private bodies on supposed risk situations and ransom demands, which will offer an interesting perspective on solutions and existing technologies to deal with these various situations.
