Panasonic has been an Official Worldwide Olympic Partner since The Olympic Partner (TOP) Programme started for the Calgary Olympic Winter Games and Seoul Olympic Games in 1988, in the audio and video equipment category. The sponsorship category was extended to include AV security systems from the Torino 2006 Olympic Winter Games. Since then, Panasonic has contributed to providing a high-level of security and safety for the Olympic venues with a wide variety of security system products including monitoring and surveillance cameras.

During the Beijing Olympic Games, Panasonic's security products such as Super Dynamic III (SDIII) colour PTZ (pan, tilt and zoom) cameras will help ensure security at the venues including the International Broadcasting Centre and Fencing Hall at the National Convention Centre, Laoshan Velodrome in Beijing and Tianjin Olympic Centre Stadium in Tianjin City.
