Over £20,000 recovered during trials of HTSI tracker

Rayleigh, Essex (UK)

A new device from Hidden Technology Systems Int. Ltd has helped to recover over £20,000 in cash following two armed robberies in as many weeks in Northern Ireland.
In recent weeks, Hidden Technology's latest development, a tracking device concealed within cash-in-transit containers, has been trialled by RMS, a leading cash management service provider operating in the UK and Ireland.

In just a short time, the use of the product has had impressive results; demonstrating the device’s ability to transmit its location even when attempts are made to dampen signal transmission. In as many weeks, two consecutive cash box robberies were carried out, and in both instances were recovered using Hiddentec’s cash in transit tracker. Both incidents were reported in the Belfast Telegraph.

The first incident took place by means of armed robbery, and was tracked to a housing estate in North Belfast. The device’s last GPS location was plotted at the front of a specific structure. Police were guided to the building, where the cash box was discovered inside a wheeled bin which had been filled with water. Officers were able to navigate using the device’s in-built RF beacon. £7,000 was recovered intact and unsoiled.

The second incident also took place by means of armed robbery. The cash box was tracked accurately to a multi-storey car park, where the thieves hoped to evade capture by entering the underground level. Using the Cash in Transit Tracker, officers were guided to the scene, and the cash box (which had been immersed in water) was recovered within 1½ hours after theft using the RF beacon. £15,000 was recovered intact and unsoiled.
