Optelecom-NKF names director of federal business development

Optelecom-NKF, Inc. has appointed Daniel Connole as its Senior Director of Federal Business Development. Mr. Connole is responsible for developing and expanding the company's footprint within federal civilian agencies, the U.S. Department of Defense, and Intelligence community.


Mr. Connole's focus will be on accelerating revenue growth through the identification and attainment of programs including physical security requirements. He will also be responsible for expanding Optelecom-NKF's capabilities through its participation in a range of strategic relationships with teaming partners.

Connole brings a wealth of government business development expertise to his new role. During his career, he has served in a number of U.S. government business development leadership positions and strategic sales consulting roles. Most recently, he was Senior Director of Business Development for BAE Systems / Detica, where he worked to expand opportunities in intelligent boundaries and protection solutions.

Prior to working at BAE Systems, Mr. Connole was the Senior Director of Business Development for AKAL Group. He also held several key positions at Siemens, including Director of Federal Solutions at Siemens Building Technologies and as the Director of the Homeland Security unit for Siemens Federal Enterprise Solutions.

A resident of Brambleton, Virginia, Mr. Connole is a Vietnam Veteran where he served with the United States Air Force. He holds an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from San Diego State University.
