On the move pocket surveillance camera from Provideo

Taipei, Taiwan

During the recent Taipei International Flora Exposition, Provideo was asked to provide a pocket security camera solution for guards to carry to help secure the event.
Taipei is the seventh city to host such a gardening expo in Asia. Held over a period of 6 months, the event recorded over 6 million visitors.

The Provideo pocket security camera offers 3G/WiFi/Wimax function for surveillance applications on the move. Each patrol officer carried a pocket camera whilst on duty. The pocket camera is designed in a miniaturised form and is able to simultaneously record send captured images to staff at the central command-and-control centre for their instant viewing and action.

The video taken is automatically recorded directly into the pocket camera and can then be inspected on a daily basis by authorised personnel. As the captured video will be immediately sent to the control centre, the images provide a real-time grasp of the situation scenario for the central station managers, who can then react appropriately to any ongoing criminal or suspicious activities.

Two-way multipoint communication was required at all times between the officers on the ground and also with the control centre. Using a mobile inspection system in conjunction with the pocket security camera allowed police officers to see live video on the go; related officers could join in with discussions online at remote sites to quickly become updated with the situation and further give orders or assist. In addition, the front-end staff could publish audio and video streaming or photos via the onsite server, from either live or historical data.

The result was an on site high performance, viewing, audio and tracking system facilitating quick decisions and reactions. The Provideo pocket surveillance cameras were reported to have significantly increased the efficiency in over all security during the entire period of the Taipei Flora Expo.
