New asset protection tags to be launched from Balogh at Expo

The growth in the use of laptop computers makes theft in most organisations easier. The laptop owners lose their computers and all the data saved in their hard disks. These are working days which are lost.

At this year's Expoprotection show in Paris, Balogh is launching a special tag to help prevent the movement of laptops without their owners.
This special tag is mounted directly on the computer. It is read systematically with the owner when it leaves the establishment. If the identification of the person does not match that of the laptop, security personnel can be notified, and action taken.
This asset tracking is usually coupled with hands-free access control systems. This becomes a great tool for monitoring the movement of personnel and assets within a facility. A CCTV system can complete the installation to take photos of laptop holders.
At the show Balogh will also be launching the BDG 1024-M/-L - Dual-technology tag using 2.45GHz and 13.56MHz (Mifare® & Legic®). In this product Balogh integrates (2) RFID technologies into the one credit card size tag.
The 2.45GHz technology allows identification ranges of a few centimetres to 10 metres. The 13.56MHz technology comes with a rewritable memory accessible at short distances and complies with the ISO14443 standard, just like the MIFARE® chips.
The 2.45GHz band is reserved for long-range personnel and vehicle long-range identification.
The 13.56MHz band is used to authenticate tag holders by means of biometric controls. Typically, the saved biometric data in the tag memory is compared with the biometric data obtained directly from the tag owners. Of course, any other applications where there is a need to exchange contactless data with these read/write tags are possible.
In all cases, the personnel uses only one unique tag for all applications, such as conventional or biometric access control, time attendance, restaurant management etc
