Mini dome range with WDR and masking features

Herlev, Denmark

Ernitec expands their Mercury range of mini domes with the addition of WDR and masking features.

"Our Mercury series has an optimal ratio between performance, quality and price," explains vice president Nordic sales Henrik Falshøj. "We have therefore decided to expand this popular range with further enhancements geared towards the newest trends on the surveillance market".

The fourth member of the mini dome flagship is Mercury/2 WDR. WDR reproduces clear images in extreme high-contrast environments, which makes it perfect for security applications where lighting conditions change over time. Basically the WDR technology compensates for the difference in contrasts resulting in balanced final images with lots of details. Another feature is privacy masking. By using privacy masking you can restrict what can be seen by masking areas with uniform colour so that no detail or movement in the scene covered by them can be seen. Today, more and more national regulations require privacy masking to protect the privacy of individuals and businesses.

"These masked areas of the image are commonly referred to as 'zones'," says technical sales and support manager
Jan Lykke. "The advantage with our new Mercury dome is that the privacy masking comes complete with the camera. No calibration is required since all the parameters are set in a way so that two images taken at different shutter speeds are electronically combined. The end images are of a single, high-quality image while at the same time geared for surveillance purposes taking the issue of privacy into consideration. This makes the Mercury/2 WDR model the ideal choice for surveillance in public areas."

Other features include:

- WDR setting that balances the brightest and darkest sections of the field of view producing pictures that image both highlights and shadows with great detail even in unfavourable lighting conditions, i.e. with strong backlight.
- Dual power for greater flexibility with the option of 24 VAC or 12 VDC.
- Light sensitivity with minimum illumination as low as 0,0003 Lux in B/W.
- 2,9-10 mm IR corrected varifocal lens.
- 3 axis fixture for easy installation and flexible adjustment.

Common to the complete Mercury range is a sturdy and compact design that is designed for flexible indoor and outdoor mounting, in-ceiling as well as on-ceiling or directly on the wall using a wall mount bracket. The mini domes are developed from the 'plug and play' principle making them easy to install by using the on screen menu. All Mercury cameras from Ernitec are vandal proof.
