Marzipan manufacturer Niederegger places faith in Bosch partner model

Lubeck (Germany)

In questions of safety, the world-renowned, Lubeck-based marzipan manufacturer Niederegger GmbH & Co KG places its faith in the Bosch partner model. Bosch has installed powerful fire alarms and smoke extraction systems in the administration, production and warehouse facilities, and an extinguishing system in the IT server room. The on-site safety personnel selected Bosch in consultation with its personnel services provider and Niederegger´s own HR management department.

The strength of the Bosch partner model lies in its "Safety from a single source" approach. It is based on close coordination of the installed alarm equipment with the tasks of the safety personnel. This convinced not only the specialists at Niederegger GmbH & Co KG, but also their fire insurance company, which was represented in the concept selection process by a fire engineer.
Dr. Carsten Mahn, the plant manager for Niederegger, said: "Other considerations that also confirmed our decision to adopt the Bosch partner model were the fact that we would be able to plan the development of costs for financing and operation, for something like the next ten years, and that the system's flexibility would enable us to expand it to other sections and services."
Lubeck is home to two attractions that are famous far beyond the borders of Schleswig-Holstein: the Holstentor and Niederegger Marzipan. As the company celebrates 200th anniversary this year, in peak periods up to 30,000 kilograms of marzipan are produced, stored and marketed in a facility occupying 35,000 square meters. Experts characterize the factory as one of the most advanced production plants in Europe.
