Major retailer signs framework agreement with Gunnebo

Gothenburg, Sweden

The Gunnebo Security Group has signed a framework agreement with Axfood to supply, install and provide service for the fully closed and integrated cash handling system, Safepay. The agreement covers all stores in Sweden that are part of the Axfood chain.
The framework agreement is valid for three years and includes Safepay coin and note units, cash-transfer units, software, installation, training, help desk support and technical support.

Most of the stores in Axfood’s different grocery chains - Willys, Willys Hemma, Hemköp and Prisxtra – will be able to make call-offs from the framework agreement. In connection with the signing of the agreement Gunnebo received an initial order for 100 systems.
Axfood chose Safepay as it is the only completely closed system for cash handling on the market that also allows cash-in-transit (CIT) companies to collect cash in the ink-protected cassettes. "We have tested and compared several solutions for closed cash handling. Safepay is the system that we think worked best overall. Not only the product itself but also for the services Gunnebo can provide in terms of support and knowledge, in order to give us a secure solution," says Stefan Andersson, Head of Retail Equipment, Axfood.

"Axfood is a major player on the Swedish market for retail and it is very gratifying that they chose Gunnebo's Safepay solution to create a safer workplace and streamline cash handling in their stores," says Bengt Nordén, Managing Director, Gunnebo Nordic.

"The agreement is the result of a longer evaluation which included analyses of efficiency, technology and security. We are very proud of the confidence Axfood has shown in Gunnebo's ability to deliver solutions that support their efforts to improve safety, efficiency and the in-store customer experience," concludes Bengt Nordén.
