Lenel releases OnGuard 2006 technology update

Rochester, New York (USA)

Lenel Systems International releases a technology update to OnGuard 2006, the latest generation of the OnGuard security platform.

"This first technology update to OnGuard 2006 fits into Lenel's new product management strategy of issuing one major release each year, with technology updates between releases" says Michael Regelski, chief technology officer for Lenel "These updates enable us to maintain our market leadership by delivering new capabilities, features and technology as soon as they are available"

The technology update provides numerous access control enhancements to the OnGuard platform. The new LNL-2220 intelligent dual reader controller simplifies system architecture by combining a networked intelligent system controller with a dual reader interface module. The LNL-3300 intelligent system controller includes 32 MB of memory, four times more than a fullyexpanded previous generation controller, and has a smaller footprint. Both the LNL-2220 and the LNL-3300 provide a native Ethernet connection to communicate directly with the security server. Native Ethernet controllers offer the speed and convenience of a high-speed network connection, with database downloads up to eight times faster than on controllers that use
traditional serial-to-Ethernet conversion.

The intrusion capabilities of the LNL-CK Lenel command keypad have been significantly extended. Separate commands can now be issued for the arm, disarm, force-arm and list-faultedpoints
functions. The commands can be enabled or disabled at the individual reader level, and two levels of user permissions are supported. Macros for any reader commands can now be assigned to hotkeys, providing one-touch execution of commonly-used functions.

The technology update also incorporates full support for HID MIFARE encoding and corporate 1000 encoding on MIFARE and iCLASS badges, further enhancing OnGuard's unique ability to program customized badges on demand at the point of use. The Schlage scramble keypad, the LG Iris 4000 system and new Bioscrypt MV-1610-based products are all fully supported.

The web-based version of the OnGuard VideoViewer, which previously could display live video only, now supports recorded video as well. The web-based application can be launched from
within the internet explorer web browser, which simplifies deployment and maintenance. With the new technology update, multiple recorded video streams can be time-synchronized for playback, and recorded video can be looped continuously. The latest offerings also provide other functionality and user interface improvements, including playback and speed controls, intuitive drop-down lists, one-click return to the point of interest, color-coded video status indication, and pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) mouse control that mimics a joystick.

The OnGuard IntelligentVideo portfolio now includes a suite of virtually calibration-free solutions to deal with common security situations in well-defined environments. The preconfigured solutions provide advanced functionality with simplified installation and management.
