Iranian remote factory selects IP security surveillance system

Hamedan, Iran

KCC is a manufacturing company located about 400 Km south west of Tehran in a suburb of Malayer city in the Hamedan province. The main product of KCC is tyre cord fabric which is supplied to major local and international tyre manufacturers. The managment team of the KCC 28 hectare production facilities outside of town considered that an investment into a comprehensive CCTV system would be of benefit. The VIDA Group, which consists of several specialised companies and organisations such as VIDA Electronic Inc. and Panasonic Professional Service Center (PPSC), was eventually nominated to be in charge of the whole project.
Quality was top priority when considering the CCTV implementation, in addition to observation of the safety procedures and detailed investigation of events within the course of the production process, plus remote monitoring. After a preliminary study of KCC’s preconditions, an IP based CCTV system was considered to be the most appropriate solution.

The cameras had to be extremely reliable to perform at 16 m height in a tough environment with high temperature and electromagnetic radiation and with no access for adjustment or regular maintenance while continuously providing constant clear crisp pictures. In order to minimize the model variation through the wide range of Panasonic cameras, the WV-NS202 PTZ camera with 22x optional zoom and high dynamic range and the WV-NF240 for those areas suitable for fixed camera installation were selected.

The POE power supply of the security cameras also helped to minimize the wiring expenses as well as the wiring time schedule for the extremely complicated and long cable routes. The whole CCTV LAN installation (in which both optical fiber and CAT5 cables were applied to support 62 security cameras in the first step and up to 200 cameras in total) was completed by the LAN contractor within 2 weeks under VIDA’s supervision and technical support.

The management of KCC decided in favour of a PC based solution and the Seetech 5 security management software package was recommended, as developed by the German company Seetec AG. From VIDA’s point of view, the benefits of the Seetec solution were not limited to the interesting functions and features. There were additional convincing facts such as the European origin of the software as well as the usability, convenience and of course reliability which could be verified by a long list of SeeTec’s international customers.

One major improvement for the KCC management is that it doesn’t matter whether they are in the plant , 400 km away in the Tehran office or any place in the world, wherever an internet access is available, they can connect to the surveillance system at their pre-defined authorisation level to monitor live pictures as well as pre-recorded events,or to change settings of the whole system and of single cameras and to have access to different reports of the past events. They also receive alarm data immediately via email and mobile phone and so they oversee important events in daily business.

Due to the powerful Seetec software, the installed Panasonic system operates to the customer’s utmost satisfaction even with low bandwidth internet connection and allows successful 24/7 monitoring.
