The dates for Intersec, the region's industry leading Commercial Security, Fire, Safety and Police trade fair, have been set for January 21st - 23rd 2007 at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre. The show will incorporate four specialised segments, enabling visitors to access exhibitors and speakers most relevant to their area of specialist interest.

The segments include Commercial Security Middle East, Police and Homeland Security Middle East, Fire Middle East along with Safety and Health Middle East. Reputable organisations including the Dubai Civil Defence and the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) will support the fire and safety segments at Intersec 2007.
Of the available 11,000sqm at this year's show, international exhibitors have already confirmed 4,653 sqm. With 42.3% of the show already booked at this early stage, the organisers Messe Frankfurt are delighted with the response so far suggesting a very exciting show.
Exhibition organiser Imke Cochran commented, "with Intersec booking at the current rate, we can be assured that the 2007 show will be an even greater success than the phenomenal 2006 show, which attracted 14,543 visitors from within and around the region. The success of this show is credited to the importance of heightened security awareness across the globe and the increased profile of the Middle East on the world stage."
Following the 2006 show Messe Frankfurt undertook several surveys, highlighting that 98% of exhibitors believed the quality of visitors at Intersec met or surpassed other exhibitions.
In addition, 64% commented that their aim at the show is to seek new business contacts, 49% see it as the perfect platform to meet existing clients or partners, 43% attend to raise their company profile and one of the other main responses was to test the Middle Eastern market for the first time.
Running once again alongside the annual Intersec Middle East exhibition on 21 - 23 January 2007 will be an international conference embracing Police, Fire, and Safety & Health topics. As in previous years, Messe Frankfurt the world's third largest trade fair organisers are currently planning to secure top-class international and regional experts to speak at the 2007 Intersec Middle East event.
Building on the tremendous success and impact of past conferences, speakers for 2007 are likely to present topical papers that include Homeland Security and Global Police Issues; Planning for Disasters; Advanced Techniques for Casualty Extrication from Road Traffic Accidents; Advances in Fire Safety Technology; Urban Search and Rescue; Fire Engineering in High Rise Towers; Advanced Firefighting; Command and Leadership Training; and a range of Safety and Health subjects relevant to the Middle East.
Sir Ken Knight, Commissioner for the London Fire Brigade and Emergency Planning Authority, renowned for being Britain's top Firefighter, who in May 2006 was appointed one of Her Majesty's Deputy Lieutenants of Greater London will be speaking at the Middle East Fire Conference, delivering a keynote address.
Exhibitor numbers are expected to be close to 600, an increase of 36% from the previous show. Exhibitors will travel from across the world to exhibit at Intersec, so far representatives from 26 countries will be participating some of which include Australia, Bahrain, Canada, France, Germany, India, Korea, KSA, Russia, Switzerland and Tunisia.
New companies exhibiting within the Commercial Security segment at the 2007 show include UK based Honeywell, who specialise in security systems; they will also have an additional stand within the Fire segment. Egyptian manufacturer Watania, suppliers of fire fighting and fire alarm systems components, have also confirmed.
Within the Safety segment, MSA who are international market leaders in the field of safety products and UK based Lakeland specialists in industrial protective clothing have confirmed. The Police & Homeland Security segment confirmed that German based Dallmeier, who specialise in digital video surveillance has booked a much larger stand than previously to demonstrate its latest innovations. Another newcomer to Intersec is Haztech, suppliers of police lights and Cambridge consultants, who are producing through-wall-radar for special forces.
The projected growth of the security systems and equipment market within the UAE is estimated to be on average 25% annually over the next five years. This increase comes down to a number of items; growth in development in and around the region, the inevitable increase in tourism and the increase in international events being staged within the region; all these factors are confirmation that Dubai is the ideal stage for an event such as Intersec, scheduled for the 21 - 23 January 2007 at Dubai's International Exhibition Centre.
