Intersec Thailand debuts in Bangkok

Bangkok, Thailand

Making its debut in Bangkok, Intersec Thailand, the professional marketing platform for the safety and security industry, will take place from 1 - 3 December 2008 at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre. It is organised by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd.and Ipex (International Promotion & Exhibition Co., Ltd). Exhibitors will show their products in 5,240 sqm exhibition space.

According to the new "World Security Equipment to 2012" report, global demand for security equipment will continue to climb at a steady 7.8 percent annually through to 2012, especially in the young Asian markets. Recognising this trend, international and local manufacturers and businesses are seizing the opportunity to be part of Intersec Thailand to showcase their latest safety and
security products.

Running alongside Intersec Thailand is the Asian Security and Emergency Conference (ASEC), co-organised by the Thailand Chapter of the Asian Professional Security Association. This international conference has been well received by Thai government officials.

The three-day conference will provide up to date trends in Asia's safety and security market as well as an opportunity for industry players to network and share information.

Issues relating to Intersec Thailand's six product categories of Commercial Security; Natural Disasters; National Security; Information Technology Security; Public Safety; and Occupational and Personal Safety will be discussed.

Fifteen world-class industry specialists will speak, including representatives from the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology, Royal Thai Police, and honorary speakers, His Excellency, Chidchai Wannasathit, Former Deputy Prime Minster and Justice Minister and Dr. Surin Pitsuwan, Secretary-General of ASEAN.

ASEC is endorsed by His Excellency, Chidchai Wannasathit, Former Deputy Prime Minister and Justice Minister and Dr Vallop Kingchansilp, President of the Asian Professional Security Association, Thailand Chapter. Earlier this year, at the launch of the Intersec biennial event, organisers were also honoured by the
presence of His Excellency Chidchai Wannasathit.

Asia's awareness and demand for safety and security devices and technology is growing rapidly. From national to personal safety issues, people are becoming more security conscious. Intersec Thailand is one of the first safety and security exhibitions in Asia Pacific to provide a professional trading and information platform for
those involved in the safety and security industry.

According to ABI Research, technology research specialists, the global CCTV (Closed-circuit Television) market is anticipated to grow steadily by more than 13 percent from 2008 to 2011 as the use of video surveillance increases in a variety of businesses from national defence to retail outlets.

Ms Joyce Oon, Customer Support Manager from Pelco Asia Pacific Pte Ltd said, "We have a long and prestigious history in offering high-quality [video security systems]. Intersec Thailand will provide a platform for us to create more brand awareness. We want to establish presence and gain more exposure in the Thailand market,
especially among the government sector."

Mr Simon Yang, Regional Manager of Zenitel Marine Asia Pte Ltd, believes security market needs are diverse and broad. As a manufacturer of traditional and IP security communication equipment, Mr Yang said there would have to be constant adaptations to meet market preferences. "Participating in Intersec Thailand will help the company to identify upcoming market needs and help Zenitel move forward," he added.

"We produce for nearly all the fields of application, transportable gas-measuring items and stationary gas-measuring systems," said Ms Britta Heller from the Marketing & Sales Department of ADOS GmbH, Aachen, Germany. "I think the business situation in Thailand/Asia Pacific is getting better and better and we would like
to play a role in it. We see great opportunities there, especially in the biogas sector."
