This development enables current and prospective Axis customers to enhance their surveillance systems by incorporating Intellio's technology, which allows each camera to analyze pictures, detect predefined events such as abandoned or stolen objects, traffic obstruction or crowd formation, and alert security personnel. The Intellio solution, which premiered at the Security Essen 2006 exhibition in October, enables up to 128 smart cameras to be connected to a single server.

The Intellio system can be incorporated into Axis's day and night, PTZ and other cameras which complement Intellio's portfolio. The compatibility with Axis IP cameras is the first stage of developments aimed at enabling the Intellio system to operate with a number of other camera brands.

In other news, Intellio successfully tested and installed Intellio systems for Iron Mountain, the global information protection and storage company, at the company's warehouses in the Czech Republic and Romania. Talks are underway to install Intellio systems at Iron Mountain locations throughout Europe. Further application areas are being investigated in traffic control, logistics and facility management, to expand Intellio's potential client base.
