Indoor/outdoor colour IP camera

Zug, Zwitzerland

Recognizing the increasing demand for networked video surveillance in business applications such as shops, small offices, or even homes, Siemens Building Technologies has introduced a new range of in- and outdoor IP color cameras.
Despite their ultra-compact size, the CCIC1410 cameras still incorporate a number of advanced security features:

- Dual encoding capability
- Integrated motion detection
- Simple and fast installation with wall mount and power supplies
- Alarm and message forwarding
- Wired and wireless models

This range of cameras supports simultaneous dual-streaming in MPEG4 and MJPEG, providing the capacity to determine the resolution and quality dependent on the receiving device, be it a digital video recorder, a PC or a 3G enabled mobile phone.

The cameras, which can be wall- or ceiling-mounted, are easy to use, delivering clear video over long distances through advanced image processing and higher light sensitivity. The CCIC1410-LAW model also supports WLAN capability, making installation even easier by removing the need for additional network cabling.

Other features include motion detection (optimizing hard disk storage) and e-mail notification in the event of an alarm being triggered, allowing the current status of the business / home to be viewed remotely. A digital input and output allow connection of an external sensor and alarm.

Given the focus on small business applications, some models within the range include a privacy button which can be activated or deactivated by the administrator. If activated, business or home owners can easily stop video monitoring (confirmed via an LED indicator) during sensitive times or in sensitive areas.

A highlight from the range is the new IP color PTZ dome camera. Offering VGA resolution and MPEG4 / MJPEG streaming, it delivers crisp video images. Amongst the camera's extensive features are activity (motion) detection, an integrated firewall, up to 2 GB SD alarm image memory and e-mail notification.

The model utilizes a precise integrated pan-and-tilt mechanism to provide easy tracking of moving objects or automatic positioning to the required scenery view. The camera supports up to 64 presets that can be called up either manually by an operator or set automatically to focus in on a desired area of interest. Combining this PTZ dome with housings / accessories from the Siemens CCDA dome range, this IP dome can also be used in outdoor applications.

For video recording, Siemens offers a range of Sistore MX hybrid recorders and Sistore MX NVS - a software package for network recording. They allow the operator to view live images as well as to support recording, playback and remote access for up to 64 network cameras per installed server. By supporting audio (both live and recording) from the Siemens network cameras, additional, potentially important information can be supplied to resolve incidents.
