Idteq AIM 100 Series short listed for best product award

Asker, Norway

Idteq, a global player in intrusion infrasound acoustic sensing solutions, has announced its Artificial Intelligent Module (AIM) 100 series, is one of only four devices recognised by Detektor International Magazine for the best product of 2010 in the alarm and detection category. The award ceremony will be held in Stockholm, Sweden next week during the Skydd-Exhibition on September 15. Nominees in each category will be awarded with either the Best Product Award, Highly Commended Product Award, or one of two innovative achievement awards.
"Idteq has developed an elegantly simple to use and deploy security device utilising a complex artificial intelligence to eliminate false alarms", said Lennart Alexandrie, editor-in-chief of Detektor International. "That’s a combination that should make for a versatile, reliable and extremely effective alarm and detection device - and certainly worthy of Detektor International’s nomination."

The unique patented intrusion infrasound technology in the AIM100 detector listens for material impacts and, through its adaptive artificial intelligence capabilities, filters out ambient and non-alarm activity sounds to detect intrusion activity. It then wirelessly transmits alarm notifications through existing security systems or as a stand-alone GSM system.

"The AIM100 was designed to address the mobile and temporary security requirements of car dealerships, fleet storage areas, shipping containers and vacant residential or commercial properties," said Rob Zeijlemaker, Idteq's director of sales and marketing. "But in the two months since our international launch, Idteq has met with a number of major distributors and end-users that are applying the technology to their own unique alarm-detection needs - the applications are endless for infrasound acoustic-sensing security; I believe we’re only scratching the surface for its uses."

The criteria to be nominated for a Detektor International Award encompass not only the technical solution but also the packaging and overall presentation of the product. "The Detektor International Awards should be viewed as a focus on continual technical development, and just as importantly should envelope the continual progress of more sophisticated packaging qualities, where the presentation of the whole concept becomes increasingly more of a priority," said Alexandrie.
